Dental Bonding
Dental Bonding is a process in which a tooth-colored resin is attached or “bonded” with a natural tooth. It is most often used to:
- Repair chipped or cracked teeth
- Fill cavities or dental caries
- Repair misshapen or short teeth
Dental Bonding Procedure
Dental bonding is an easy and painless procedure that usually lasts close to an hour for each, individual tooth. Your dentist begins by selecting the resin color that most closely resembles your natural tooth coloration. The tooth surface is then slightly roughened and a conditioning liquid applied. Afterwards the resin is applied onto the tooth surface and molded to resemble the shape of a natural tooth. An ultraviolet light is used to harden the resin. Once the resin is firmly in place, your dentist will further trim and smooth the newly bonded surface to match your other teeth.
Dental bonding is a common and popular procedure for restoring natural and healthy smiles. If you are looking for dental bonding in the Houston area and would like to speak to one of our dental professionals about the procedure, please contact us today.
