If you have brown spots or discoloration on your face or body, you may want to consider a limelight procedure! This procedure is non-invasive and painless and can greatly improve the appearance of your skin.
What Does A Limelight Procedure Do?
The limelight procedure uses a special, intense pulsed light to improve the appearance of brown spots, redness, veins and enlarged pores. The procedure is a resurfacing option with little to no discomfort or pain. Brown spots, discoloration, or any other blemishes will begin to lighten a few weeks after the procedure. Limelight treatment can also improve skin texture that is associated with sun damage or aging. The length of the procedure varies depending on the area that is being treated. However, a limelight procedure usually takes less than an hour.
The light used in the limelight procedure is non-ablative so there is very little pain and discomfort. Many patients have described the sensation to be like a small pinch, when the laser is running over the treated area. Since the procedure is associated with such little pain, medication or anesthesia is not required.
Common Treatment Areas
After The Procedure
Immediately following the limelight procedure, the patient may experience redness or irritation around the treated area. Some patients are given a cooling agent to put on their face after the procedure, but no medication is required or needed for this irritation. The redness will subside a few hours after the area is treated. After the procedure, you will be allowed to apply makeup immediately. Some patients see immediate results while others can take a few weeks before any difference is shown. You may require several treatments depending on the condition of your skin prior to the first treatment. Most patients see the best results after four limelight procedure sessions.
You may begin to see redness or brown spots reappear after a while. This is due to the exposure of your skin to the sun and other weather conditions. It is important to remember that a limelight procedure does not prevent brown spots from forming on the skin. The limelight procedure is meant to correct existing brown spots or blemishes.
Though this procedure is a great way to improve the appearance of the face, neck, hands, etc. However, not everyone is a candidate for limelight treatment.
